This is our first breakfast networking forum aimed at sharing insights and knowledge with IT managers and leaders in the professional services industry.
Many organisations focus on cyber security, unsurprisingly because this is what makes the headlines. However, as an IT professional, it is ultimately your responsibility to make sure your systems are resilient, so that your users and fee earners are always able to access the systems and data they need. Failure to do so has financial consequences and, if your staff cannot work because your systems are down, it will reflect badly on your brand reputation.
Being ‘cyber resilient’ is about implementing efficient procedures for accessing data, appropriate user training and the lifecycle management of hardware. It is also about having systems in place to ensure business continuity and disaster recovery, enabling you to meet your recovery time and recovery point objectives. We know that many IT Leaders can get frustrated by their board’s lack of appreciation of the importance of cyber resilience. Business leaders typically do not give the input needed in order to help you make the best decisions.
At this networking event, we will share ideas about how you can help your Board/Partners understand the importance of having a cyber-resilient IT system, in a way that will make them pay attention. Often it comes down to the language and communicating the consequences of a non-resilient system, for example, it’s often most effective when couched in terms of potential financial losses.
This event is CPD accredited. Individuals who need to meet Continuing Professional Development requirements will obtain one CPD hour for attendance.
