We were thrilled to hear the news that our MD, Richard McBarnet, has been selected as a Finalist in the CSR category of the 2018 Institute of Directors East of England Director of the Year Awards.
The Director of the Year Awards are hugely prestigious. They are designed to recognise leaders who have set exceptional standards of leadership and demonstrated good corporate governance, rewarding “the outstanding leadership they have displayed within their organisation”.
CSR is an important part of our company
We believe that corporate social responsibility (CSR) should be part of the life-blood of every company, and Richard is clearly delighted that his work in this field has earned him a place in the IoD finals: “At Lumina Technologies, CSR is not just another compliance tick-box, it is a way of life, and a strong community ethos runs through the lifeblood of the business. As MD, I am in a good position to drive Lumina’s CSR policy forward and am especially keen on providing practical support which is more meaningful and impactful. I believe the company has a responsibility not only to employees, clients and partners, but also to the local community, as well as the world around them.”
Lumina’s CSR policy is already award-winning
This is not the first time we have won an accolade for our CSR policy. At the end of last year, Lumina was awarded the 2017 Hertfordshire Business Award for Commercial Business in the Community.
Richard will have to wait until 15 June to find out if he is a winner at the awards lunch to be held at The Jockey Club in Newmarket.
